The problem lies BEHIND the camera

People who buy a digital camera thinking that all that technology will let them take wonderful pictures are forgetting the most important feature is actually the human behind the camera. You can have all the gadgets you want, but if you don't know how to frame a shot, how to light the subject, how to create the perfect atmosphere, you still end up with crappy pictures.

A well-focused crappy digital picture is still just a crappy picture.

A digital camera is just an accessory for the human taking the pictures. Digicams are useless when used incorrectly, even with all the features they provide. Don't buy a digicam until you understand that. You might want to invest in a book or two about digital photography. Or take a few classes. Or consult an expert.

Or maybe you shouldn't even bother taking pictures. You probably won't print them anyhow!

Let's face it, most of us are not experts when it comes to photography. In fact, most of us are pathetic photo takers, and no fancy digital camera is going to change that. The only saving grace that digital cameras have is that they make it easy for us to delete the stupid pictures we take as soon as we take them. Instant disappointment instead of delayed disappointment.

This blog is my attempt to show you what can go wrong with digital camera picture taking. Learn from my mistakes and maybe you will become a better digital photographer.
